Buying guide

Compatibility and software included
When choosing a purchase, the most important factor to consider is software and compatibility. You're out of luck if your new controller isn't compatible with your laptop, for example. On the other hand, there are lots of controllers on our list that are compatible with almost anything. Some even support iPhones, iPads, Android, PCs, and other devices! Returning to software, double-check that your controller is compatible with your preferred software, as well as that the program is compatible with your chosen device.
The number of channels available
The majority of entry-level DJ controllers will have two channels. Each channel can have a single track, sample, vocal, and so on. Two channels are more than enough to get you started mixing and improving your EQing, effects, and other talents. Some controllers, on the other hand, include 2+1 decks, allowing you to remix a track, or even 4 decks, allowing you to mix up to four tracks, vocals, and samples at once. Don't be afraid if the controller you want has four decks. You don't have to use all four, but having the choice is excellent if you do want to go that far.
Outputs and Inputs
It's critical to double-check that your controller has the inputs and outputs you'll need to complete your task. Make sure it has at least one USB connection so you can connect it to your laptop effortlessly.
Internal and USB Memory
You'll want to think about how your controller saves cue points as well. This is significant because if the controller doesn't have enough internal memory to do so, you'll have to save it to a USB, which means you'll lose your cue/loop points if you forget your USB. Take into account how many USB ports your controller has as well. Most people at this level only have one to connect to a laptop, but having more allows you to connect more devices or even charge your phone!
Wheels for jogging
You'll want jog wheels that are large, responsive, and not too sensitive. The jogging shoes should ideally be constructed of aluminum or another strong metal. With the jogs, you'll be able to beat-match, scrub through tracks, and even pitch tunes up and down.
Supplementary items
It's never a bad idea to have extra controller accessories! But let's take a look at both sides of the coin. Free is always a plus, and it's even better when a bundle like the DDJ-RB includes your laptop stand and headphones in addition to your controller, reducing the amount of money you'd have to pay elsewhere. You may, however, prefer other headphones than the ones included in the box. Keep in mind that these won't be as good as your standard DJ headphones, so keep that in mind if you think this is a good value.
DJ aspirations
What are your DJ goals (or the goals of the person you're buying for)? Do you want to be the next Armin van Buuren or do you just want to do it at home as a hobby? This is important because if it's only for pleasure, you don't need elements that will assist you to improve your talents. If you're serious about doing this, you'll want to invest in a controller that allows you to readily upgrade to pro-level hardware.
Dimensions
It will be inconvenient to transport if it is awkward, heavy, or bulky. This isn't as necessary if you're just going to leave it at home.
Weight This is similar to the previous tip, but if you're going to be traveling with your controller, make sure it's under 5 pounds at the very least.
Hope you choose the best one!
